Lose yourself in old, mysterious China at the old and mysterious Unicorn Theatre in Abingdon!

Emperor Ming (Richard Wilson) is determined to marry his daughter, the Princess Baldroubador (Alex Jenkins) to the richest suitor he can find - but she has other ideas.

The princess would like to travel and see the Seven Wonders of The World and luckily Aladdin (Rachel Trantor) - son of the local laundry owner, Widow Twanky (Duncan Blagrove) - has the same idea. They meet and it is love at first sight but the evil Abanaza (John Hawkins), who poses as Aladdin's Uncle, needs Aladdin to retrieve the magic lamp from a cave.

This traditional story has all the fun, music and audience participation of a great pantomime and is not to be missed!

Aladdin was written by local boy Joe Graham. Director, Susi Dalton says,

“I have seen a few of Joe's plays and Pantos and have always loved his writing. His script for Aladdin was fantastic. I just had to direct it and thanks go to Abingdon Drama Club for the opportunity to do so”.

With Wishee Washee (Maria Crocker), the Genie (Leon Witcomb), the Spirit Of The Ring (Lynne Smith) and the two silly village policemen Ping and Pong (Allen Dannfeld and Lee Orchard) adding extra laughs, magic and continuity to the story, it is bound to send everyone home happy and singing the songs!
