The Battle of Fyfield First reading/auditions

expires on 20 April 2018 - 1:49pm (13 hours 54 min)

Wed 28th March
The Battle of Fyfield is a new play by award-winning playwright, Nick Smith. It recently featured on the front page of the Oxford Times – see www.tinyurl.com/y9j78k9f. This contemporary comedy explores a number of topical issues, including the disappearance of rural communities, planning permission battles, sexual politics and the role of independent colleges within a university system.

Nick is planning to direct the world premieres of his play on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th May in Appleton Village Hall. He and producer, Penny Budgen, are looking for actors and backstage crew for this production.

If you are keen to act or can offer other relevant skills, please come along to an initial reading of the play on Wednesday 28th March. This will include the opportunity to audition for all parts. Although there are parts for actors of all ages, the ability to appear 18 or 40-55 would be a clear advantage.

The reading will be at Nick’s house, The Old Bakery, 3, Main Rd, Fyfield OX13 5LN, starting at 7.30. Free refreshments too!

Rehearsals will begin the following week and cast members will need to be available on a number of Mondays and Wednesdays between now and 25th May.

Nick is contactable on nick@ool.co.uk or 01865-390756. Please do let him know if you are planning to attend or if you are unable to attend but are nevertheless interested (and wish to arrange an audition on another date).
