Local AmDram Society celebrates 70th anniversary and 40 years in the Wallingford Corn Exchange by putting on an Agatha Christie play.

There’s great excitement and mystery at Wallingford’s Corn Exchange this autumn as the resident company Sinodun Players prepares to celebrate its 70th Anniversary and 40 years in the Corn Exchange by putting on Agatha Christie’s “A Murder is Announced” adapted by Leslie Darbon – a Miss Marple mystery – from Wednesday 17 October to Saturday 20 October. This is Christie, the Queen of Crime, at her best – so do come and pitch your wits against hers!  An announcement in the local paper states the time and place where a murder is to occur. What follows is classic Christie - a puzzle of concealed identities mixed motives and many lies. A second murder provides Miss Marple and the police with an interesting and dangerous case.

On the first night, Wednesday 17 October, a special pre-show talk has been arranged at 6.00pm to be given by Judy Dewey, Curator of Wallingford Museum and a Christie expert, who will talk on “Agatha Christie: her life and local connections”.  Tickets for both shows are available either at the Corn Exchange Box Office (open Fridays and Saturdays 10.00 – 14.00 or every evening from 19.00 – 20.00) or on line at www.cornexchange.org.uk
