Faringdon Dramatic Society presents Ladies' Day by Amanda Whittington

Date:
11 November 2021 - 7:00pm - 13 November 2021 - 7:00pm

Faringdon Dramatic Society return this November with the exhuberant comedy 'Ladies' Day' by Amanda Whittington.

When lockdown struck, Faringdon Dramatic Society was preparing to begin rehearsals for the spring 2020 production. The cast was ready for their first rehearsal, the crew were busy designing sets and the continuity team had already started making small smoked fish!!

The play was ‘Ladies’ Day’ written by Amanda Whittington. It’s an exuberant comedy about four likely lasses from the Hull fish docks on a day trip to the races.

Work, love and life is just one long, hard slog for the fish-filleting foursome Pearl, Jan, Shelley and Linda. But their fortunes are set to change when Linda finds tickets to Ladies' Day at Royal Ascot the year it relocated to York (2015).

Out go the hairnets, overalls and wellies as the four ditch work, do themselves up to the nines and head off to the races for a drink, a flirt and a flutter. If their luck holds, they could hit the jackpot - and more besides…

COVID put all the plans on hold but we weren’t downhearted and, like so many have done, we took to Zoom!!! We rehearsed every week. The superb cast got into their characters and rehearsed with gusto from their bedrooms and lounges.

Well, the good news is that FDS is back and ready to perform again for you in Faringdon, this November. See you at Faringdon Junior School for a great night out!
