The Wychwood Players’ next production will be ‘Flare Path’, by Terence Rattigan. Performance dates are 23-25 November 2023, and it is to be directed by Hazel Hughes. The play was first staged in 1942, and is widely regarded as a classic. Set in an hotel near a Bomber Command airbase during the Second World War, the story involves a love triangle between a pilot, his actress wife and a famous film star. The play is based in part on Rattigan's own wartime experiences as a tail gunner in RAF Coastal Command, and was later adapted for film as The Way to the Stars.
