Applications are invited for the ODN’s Summer School Bursary - ACTING SKILLS

NODA SUMMER SCHOOL: Residential course at University of Warwick, Coventry.  4th – 11th August 2012 - Once again, the ODN is offering a Bursary to someone from one of our member groups to attend a residential course at the annual summer school run by NODA (National Operatic & Dramatic Association).

This time, we have chosen to sponsor the course on Acting Skills – worth £575 - which is suitable for actors at all levels of experience. So, if your aim is to improve your stagecraft or simply to gain enough confidence to take on your first part, then this course should appeal to you.

The tutor is actor and director Giles Foreman who trained at London’s Drama Centre and who comes with an impressive CV of work in theatre, film and television. He is now one of the UK’s leading acting specialists and is the founder of the London-based Caravanserai Productions and Acting Studios.

As a much sought-after acting coach, he has delivered workshops all over the world and has worked on many films, regularly coaching a range of actors before and during shoots.

At the NODA Summer School, Giles will use a series of practical workshops to explore the essential skills an actor needs to create a believable character to deliver a realistic performance.

The ODN Bursary covers all tuition fees, accommodation and meals. All we ask in return is that the lucky recipient writes a report of his/her experiences for the Newsletter. And you can’t say fairer than that!!
