Improvisation workshops - for your Group

I specialise in an improvisation method by highly acclaimed improvisation pioneer in Chicago and Hollywood in the 20th century called VIOLA SPOLIN. Her methods are affirming, timeless and very practical, as well as a lot of fun!

This approach by nature addresses issues such as:

  • Countering stage fright both on and off stage
  • Overcoming ‘corpsing’ (laughing) or ‘drying’ (forgetting lines)
  • Overcoming self consciousness, embarrassment or lack of confidence
  • Gaining freedom of action, movement and text
  • Enriching characters and keeping them fresh and ‘growing’
  • Successful, effective and satisfying team interaction
  • Learning self assessment without losing confidence and getting depressed!
  • Especially for directors: how to give positive but also fruitful critique/feedback to actors

These workshops are suitable for any age and any level of performance ability or experience.

I would like to offer your group a 3 hour introductory workshop to the Spolin improvisation approach.  We would organise the day/time of the workshop to fit with you/your group’s needs and I would suggest a cost of £7.50 per person for a group of 10 or over (slightly more for a smaller group). Minimum participants would be six, maximum 16..
