Pantomine Audtions: Sinodun Players Presents The Snow Queen

Hear ye, hear ye! Calling all actors, singers, dancers, comedians, villains, heroes, magical creatures and lovers of a good thigh slap!

The palace doors are wide open, and you’re all invited to audition for this year’s pantomime, The Snow Queen by Alan Frayn, inspired by the classic Hans Christian Andersen tale.

Join fearless Gerda on a magical adventure across the frozen landscapes of Scandinavia as she sets out to rescue her best friend, Kai, from the icy clutches of the mysterious Snow Queen. Along the way she’ll encounter an unforgettable cast of wonderfully bonkers characters, including a flower-power princess, a talking flower, a lovable reindeer and plenty of opportunities for laughs, songs and audience mischief!

This year’s frosty festivities are being directed by Emma Trotman and Poppy Jackson, two lifelong panto fanatics who firmly believe there is no such thing as too much sparkle, too many terrible jokes or too many cries of “He’s behind you!”

Emma has spent many a panto making all the crucial magic happen backstage and in the wings, while Poppy has spent hers prancing around as various princesses, enthusiastically perfecting the fine art of fawning over thigh-slapping princes. Together, they’re ready to bring a show full of heart, hilarity and festive fun to the Corn Exchange stage.

Whether you’ve performed for years or have never set foot on a stage before, we’d love you to join us. Pantomime is for everyone, and we’re looking for people 16 and up, and all experience levels, who fancy making new friends, learning something new and creating a show the whole community will love.

The only thing you need to bring is enthusiasm (and perhaps a warm coat… it is The Snow Queen after all!)
